At some point in the past Ive done something to my build folder that makes it impossible for me to save builds.

Specifically, whenever I try to save a build, I get this message:
The attempt to save the Skills Template named "X" failed because the file could not be created/written to.

Any ideas on what ive done and how to fix it? I acessed my template folder from outside of GW and theres nothing wrong with it that I can tell. Its also impossible for me to make a new template folder or delete my old one.

Is the Template folder you are using in your Guild Wars directory or My Documents\Guild Wars?

Problem might be caused by not having sufficient user privileges to edit the My Documents folder.

I had an issue when editing the Guild Wars Template folder, none of the folders in-game would update. Then, when I edited the My Document Templates, it actually updated in-game.
If neither of these are the problem, try running Guild Wars as Administrator.

It'll be in the wrong place, for whatever reason. Probably need to go C:/users/urname/doccos/gw/templates/lolwinkgo

My guess would be that you are running windos 7? If so Chocolate prayers is exactly right with running it as the admin.

You could right click on GW and choose "Run as Administrator". That may clear it up - I think you'd only need to do that once.

Other than that, it's probably a matter of "permissions" for the folder. If you are using Windows 7, the templates are moved to My Documents, but you should, of course, have permission for that folder.

Btw, my GW is on my D: drive, which may be why I don't have these problems.

If you are running Windows 7 and Guild Wars is located in /Program Files(x86) then there is a simple work around to eliminate all those "Permissions" and "Run as Administrator" messages or tasks.

Simply create a folder under the Public directory /Users/Public/Public Games/ and cut and paste the entire Guild Wars folder, including all of it's content, into that /Public Games/ directory.

The reason being is that Windows 7 doesn't care about changes in the Public Directory, but is very sensitive to changes made in Program Files/ and /Program Files(x86)

Not sure if this is your exact problem, but I thought I would throw this out there.
